That depends on the individual case. Certain properties (e.g. vacation homes) are in higher demand at certain times and are therefore easier to sell.

Real estate inheritance – from family conflict to success story
Ms. M., you inherited a property. Did you have a plan right away for what to do with it?
When our father passed away, we were deeply saddened. At first, the house we inherited provided us with emotional comfort. During the first year, we paid the running costs and met regularly to eat together and share memories. Only gradually did we begin to discuss the future of the house.
What was the biggest problem with your inherited property?
My brother Paul wanted to move in with his family, but his financial expectations were low. My sister Lisa from Berlin pushed for a sale and had high price expectations. She was also annoyed about the running costs and ultimately refused to continue paying them. This led to increasing conflicts between my siblings.
How did you go about solving the problem?
The dispute escalated, and my siblings threatened to cut off contact. In my desperation, I searched online for "property valuation" and quickly found an agent in our area who offered free valuations. I hoped that a professional would be able to accurately assess the value of our property and ease the tension within our family.
How was the professional able to help you?
I have to say that I was really pleasantly surprised by the real estate agent's work. He thoroughly inspected our parents' house and took a lot of time for us. He came to the conclusion that the house was worth less than Lisa thought, but more than Paul estimated. His comprehensible valuation convinced both of them and, as a neutral party, brought them closer together again.
How did you then reach an agreement?
The real estate agent then showed us the options available for the property. It turned out that there were various financing options that just fit Paul's budget. The agent also suggested referring him to a financial expert from his network. I particularly liked the agent's empathetic manner. It was immediately apparent that he was familiar with family disputes. Ultimately, his work helped to defuse the conflict. Today, I wouldn't let things get that far and would seek out an agent at an early stage.
