Bring the outdoor pool into your own garden
It is a fact that summers in our part of the world are getting hotter and hotter. Anyone who owns a house with a garden should therefore really consider whether they would like to have a pool. Around 12,000 Germans fulfill their dream of swimming in their garden every year. The age group over 60, who often have a certain amount of financial leeway, shows the most interest in private swimming pools. By contrast, demand among parents and working people is rather low, as they are usually still busy paying off their own homes and also shy away from the additional maintenance work. Ideally, the children of young families splash around in their grandparents' swimming pools.
Incidentally, swimming ponds are becoming increasingly popular in competition with traditional swimming pools. Not only does the eco-friendly option come out on top in terms of manufacturing costs and naturalness, but the ongoing maintenance costs for the pond are also only half as high in comparison, as it does not need to be refilled in summer.
Environmentally and health-conscious homeowners get their money's worth with swimming ponds anyway, because thanks to their natural self-cleaning properties, no chlorine needs to be used, which is also an advantage for allergy sufferers. The swimming pond has long since disproved the preconceptions about "murky water": thanks to modern filter systems, swimming pond owners can enjoy unclouded swimming pleasure. However, nature's inimitable cleaning mechanism also has one decisive disadvantage: the pond must have a regeneration zone that is not accessible for swimming. Due to the increased space required, swimming ponds can therefore only be built in larger gardens.
Another point that speaks against a pond and in favor of a pool is the possibility of covering it (for example, with electric roller shutters), which is very important for parents with small children for safety reasons. In addition to the construction costs for a standard 32-square-meter pool, which start at around $15,000, you would have to budget another $10,000 for a child-safe cover.
