Marketing from a bird's eye view
We don't really have a sales bottleneck in Germany at the moment. So what's the point of drone photography?
That's certainly true, but aerial photography offers significant added value at a relatively low cost, especially for larger projects and nationwide marketing. And yet we continue to see examples where a property only sells well with the help of appropriate, professional images. This is particularly true in less hyped locations that nevertheless have a lot to offer.
What is the current legal situation? Can't I already take great pictures myself with a mini drone?
The legal situation has become much stricter. Regulation is certainly right and important, but the details are open to discussion and things have not gone entirely smoothly for professional users. Nevertheless, the processes at the authorities are now well established. There are people to contact who know what's going on, and a lot of things have been simplified for professional providers in the concrete implementation of the laws. The drones available on the market are getting smaller, cheaper, and more powerful.
What can you recommend to property owners on how to use the service correctly?
Firstly, the image and video material can be easily integrated into various real estate portals, allowing you to stand out from the crowd. For larger projects, it is certainly worth setting up your own project website with the image material and videos you have created. If a 360° tour of the interior is planned, a drone photo or even a spherical panorama can be used as the starting point for the virtual tour.
Is it possible to do something wrong?
Above all, you should adhere to the legal requirements and not just start flying. Drone technology has become much easier to use in recent years, but it remains a complex aircraft and risks can never be completely ruled out, even with assistance systems. It is essential to study the manual thoroughly and complete a few practice flights in an open area. If special permits are required, a drone license is usually also a prerequisite. In any case, post-processing 360° photos and videos or embedding 3D models in photos is a job for professionals, as it can be very time-consuming and specialized providers deliver excellent results at a reasonable cost.
This is a strong argument in favor of hiring a real estate agent for such aerial photography who either flies themselves or knows an expert who can do it. Thank you very much for the interview.
