Outdoor sauna – a peaceful oasis for your garden
Do you sometimes feel exhausted by the hustle and bustle of everyday life? Would you prefer to create a place of tranquility close to home instead of having to travel long distances to really unwind? An outdoor sauna is the ideal solution for regularly taking time for yourself and cleansing your body and mind. A sauna in the garden has its own unique advantages. A window or glass door offers a soothing view of your garden— in winter to a snowy landscape and in summer to lush greenery. Its location in the garden gives the sauna direct access to fresh air. After a cleansing sweat in the sauna, homeowners can stroll through the garden or lie down on a lounger to complete their relaxation.
Various designs are possible depending on the owner's preferences. Some sauna enthusiasts prefer to have a shower built in during construction. This is usually installed in the entrance area. Outdoor saunas can be heated in two different ways. Heating is provided either electrically or with the aid of wood-burning stoves. Electric heating has a clear advantage here, as thermostats allow owners to set the temperature exactly as they like it. When building a new outdoor sauna, it is also possible to include an antechamber. This can be used for undressing and dressing. The outdoor sauna can of course be built in different sizes. Depending on the size, more or fewer people can enjoy the sauna at the same time. While a 2-meter-long sauna is designed for two people, up to four people can fit in a 3-meter-long sauna.
The design of the outdoor sauna should harmonize with the house and garden. It should also match the property in terms of construction and color. A modern property does not look right with an outdoor sauna that looks like a wooden hut. However, if your house has a very rustic character, an outdoor sauna with lots of wood paneling would create a harmonious impression.
Homeowners should think carefully in advance about where in the garden they want to place the sauna. Ideally, you should choose a secluded spot. This way, homeowners will not feel that their privacy is being invaded and will avoid the prying eyes of neighbors. Finally, for safety reasons, the sauna should be built far enough away from the property. Depending on where you live, you may need to obtain a permit for the construction of a sauna.
